Nottingham Forest put in every strength to sign €13m versatile striker from KRC Genk

Nottingham Forest is thought to be interested in signing KRC Genk attacker Mike Tresor this summer, according to a 90-minute report.

Tresor, 23, is primarily an attacking midfielder who can also play as a left winger or a center forward if needed. The Belgian moved to Genk in 2021 and has had a fruitful time with his current club, with his Transfermarkt valuation rising from €4m to a career-high €13m.

During the current season, he has had a productive year in front of goal, scoring seven goals and registering 18 assists in the Jupiler Pro League, a career high in both categories. His performances have earned him praise from the media as a “very, very strong” player, while scout Alberto Casas has stated that Tresor is “exploding numerically this season.”

In the last 24 hours, 90min reporter Graeme Bailey provided a transfer update on Tresor, claiming that Forest are one of five Premier League clubs interested in signing the Belgian. Forest, Brentford, Brighton, Leicester, and Wolves have all shown interest in Tresor in recent months, with Championship leaders Burnley also interested.

Forest will need to stay in the Premier League for the next few months if they want to sign Tresor in the summer, but it’s easy to see why Steve Cooper’s side would be interested in bringing him to the City Ground.

Goals have been a problem for Forest this season as they battle relegation, with only three players scoring three or more goals. This season, only Brennan Johnson has scored more goals than Tresor, with the attacking midfielder registering more assists than the entire Forest squad combined.

As a result, you could make a strong case that a player like Tresor is required heading into the 2023/24 season, so this could be one to keep an eye on if Cooper and his team perform well over the next ten games.
