Nottingham Forest reveal £155.7m transfers update and Steve Cooper exit in full details

Nottingham Forest have revealed financial figures from the last two transfer windows. The Reds have published their accounts for the year ended June 30, 2023. The 44-page document filed on the Companies House website also outlines events after that reporting date, including transfer deals completed during the last summer transfer window – after June 30 last year – and during the January 2024 transfer window.

Forest have confirmed player sales amounted to £63.8m and player signings totalled £91.9m. It means their net transfer spend was £28.1m.

Brennan Johnson notably left the City Ground to join Tottenham in a deal believed to be worth £47.5m at the end of the summer transfer window, while the likes of Ibrahim Sangare and Anthony Elanga arrived at the club in big-money deals.

In their annual report, Forest said: “Since the balance sheet date, various players have been bought and sold. Steve Cooper left his position as head coach of the club on 19 December 2023. Nuno Espirito Santo was appointed as head coach on 20 December 2023.

“The income of these transfers, taking into account the applicable levies and sell-on clauses, is £63.8m (2022: £5.3m). The net cost of these transfers and staff changes, taking into account the applicable levies, is £91.9m (2022: £169.9m). These transfers will be accounted for in the year ending 30 June 2024
