The latest Nottingham Forest news as the centre-back has hinted that he could be in the squad for the Premier League clash.
Nottingham Forest summer signing Murillo has hinted that he could be in the matchday squad for the first time since moving to the City Ground.
The Brazilian joined late in the transfer window, completing a move from Corinthians. He is yet to make a matchday squad for his new club, but that could be about to change.
Forest take on Brentford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon as they look to get back to winning ways following a 2-0 loss against Man City at the Etihad Stadium last weekend. The opponents were also on the end of a defeat, having lost 3-1 vs Everton in their last league game.
Ahead of the match, Murillo has taken to Instagram. He has posted a picture of his match day shirt in the home dressing room on his Instagram stories, alongside he has written a message that translates as: “May God bless us.”
Murillo was not named in Forest’s 25-man Premier League squad in the summer, but is still available for selection due to being on a supplementary list of U21 players. He appeared on the U21 list alongside the likes of Andrew Omobamidele, Andrey Santos and Anthony Elanga.
Murillo was last in action in August when he played the full 90 minutes of Corinthians’ Brazil Cup quarter-final first leg against Estudiantes. He missed the second leg seven days later due to moving to Forest.
If the 21-year-old is in the squad, he is likely to be named on the bench. Moussa Niakhate, Willy Boly and Serge Aurier were all preferred in the starting line-up against Man City as Cooper opted to play five at the back.
