And according to claims in Premier League Brasil, Brighton are candidates to sign the Brazilian. It is said that the Seagulls are “popular as a destination” due to the way they “treat young players” and the number of South American players at the club.

The report has also claimed that Brentford have shown interest in signing the striker more than once. It adds though that “negotiations did not progress.”

Leonardo is highly regarded in Brazil, having come through Santos’ academy before making his senior debut at the age of 17. He has scored nine goals in 18 league games this season with his performances in Brazil inevitably leading to comparisons with Santos legends Pele and Neymar.
