Nottingham Forest are hoping for an injury boost ahead of their trip to face Leeds United at Elland Road
Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper is hoping for a triple injury boost when his team travels to Leeds United on Tuesday night. Forest travel to Elland Road looking for their first win since beating the Whites at the City Ground in the reverse fixture.
Their chances will improve if Cooper receives the injury news he desires, with the possibility of a triple boost to his squad. Serge Aurier, Gustavo Scarpa, and André Ayew’s injuries will be evaluated ahead of Forest’s trip to Leeds, and all three could play.
Aurier and Scarpa were both missing from the squad for the weekend’s 1-1 draw against Wolves at home. Aurier and Ayew were injured while on international duty for Ivory Coast and Ghana, respectively, but the injuries are not serious and both, along with Scarpa, could play at Elland Road.
“Serge is still recovering,” Cooper said ahead of the game in a press conference. “We’ll give him every opportunity to be available, but we haven’t made a decision yet.” We are the same as we were before the Wolves. Obviously, a couple of lads have returned, and it was great to see them back on the field.
“(Ryan) Yatesy won’t be available due to a shoulder injury, and the other guys haven’t been ruled in or out.” In terms of availability, it’s still a mixed bag.”
