JD Davison was signed to a two-way contract by the Celtics, filling one of their three two-way roster positions. After selecting the former Alabama point guard with the 53rd overall choice in last year’s draft, the Celtics used that process to bring him on board.
Davison averaged 13.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 7.7 assists, and nearly a steal per game in 44 games with Maine. His 339 assists in the regular season placed fourth in the G League. It’s also the second-most by a single player in the club’s history. In 12 games with Boston, he averaged 1.6 points and nearly an assist in 5.5 minutes per game. Davison had 14 points, a game-high 11 assists, four rebounds, and two steals in the Celtics’ 2023 Summer League debut.
