Crysencio Summerville may be nursing ankle injury – Report
The atmosphere inside Elland Road was that of a dead rubber on Saturday as Leeds were essentially out of the top two running, confirmed by Ipswich taking the lead in the first half against Huddersfield Town.
However, the challenges put in by the Saints players during the match – bafflingly rarely booked by referee Matt Donohue – were not that befitting of a game which had very little consequences for either side.
A scuffle between Joel Piroe and Joe Rothwell saw both players booked, but in the background of that incident, Crysencio Summerville was brought to the ground by Kamaldeen Sulemana with a bad challenge, as LeedsLive share that Daniel Farke was not pleased:
“While the attacker played the full duration of their final day defeat to the Saints, the Leeds boss was left squirming in his seat at the possibility of losing his top scorer for the play-offs. The 22-year-old was the recipient of a late tackle by Kamaldeen Sulemana.“

Farke comments on Summerville ankle issue
In terms of what Farke knew about the injury at the time, he is hoping that the ankle issue isn’t anything that will keep him out of the playoff semi-final.
Speaking after the match he said this:
“Overall, I hope first assessment of Cree was not too bad. When you see a foul against Piroe, this scene, I’m happy it’s not a broken ankle for Summerville. Nasty and dirty foul against him. Hope he is okay.”
We cannot afford Summerville to be out for any game
Put simply, if Summerville can’t play a part in either of the games against Norwich, we can kiss our promotion hopes goodbye.
He is the best player in the league, and without him, we would have stood a chance of automatics, so we need him fit.
Given there is a week until we play Norwich from the Saints loss, and he carried on after the challenge, we can assume that he’s not totally crocked.
