Multiple sources say Siya Kolisi has announced his second transfer request this year.

Following a tedious stint at Racing 92, Kolisi returned to the Sharks, where they had been playing since 2021, following eight years at the Stormers, clocking up 118 caps for the Mother City contingent.

The Springbok captain, who has two kids with ex-wife Rachel, hopes to rekindle with his youngsters via a move to the Stormers, which would be his third club within twelve months.

Kolisi is likely to have his wish reluctantly granted by Durban’s Sharks, but whether John Dobson will take him is yet to be confirmed – however, it would be surprising if they didn’t jump at the chance of signing the double World Cup winner.

Rassie praises Springboks

“To our players who made it into the Dream XV and Sacha nominated and almost got it there, we are all proud of those guys,” said Rassie Erasmus.

“I hope you have a great time over the festive season. Fortunately, we have the URC now and some of the boys are playing, to all the fans I hope you have good holidays.

“Let’s stay nice and humble, support each other and help us keep our feet on the ground. We play for you guys and for South Africa, also for those abroad who understand and see what we stand for as the Springboks – I appreciate that a lot.

“At the end of the day, it is all just a game that we are all proud of. Merry Christmas and hope you all have a lekker festive time. I will probably only hop on Twitter next (year) again. Cheers.”
