Lewis Hamilton the seven-time world champion, is currently in his twilight period in Formula 1. He is moving to Mercedes from 2025 onwards and this is being seen by many as his last deal in the sport. With his Formula 1 chapter coming to a close in a few years, Hamilton has revealed his biggest dream.

The 39-year-old has always wanted to compete in a Grand Prix in Africa. He has been all over the world racing at various kinds of circuits since 2007 but despite this, he at least once wants to race in Africa.

Lewis Hamilton shed light on the same recently and deemed it as his biggest dream in the sport.

I’ve been talking about Africa, and we’ve got, potentially, Rwanda on the cards, which is amazing. So I just hope it comes in time before I’m gone. That’s my biggest dream, is to make sure that I get to race there before I retire.

South Africa’s Kayami racing circuit was in the headlines recently for potentially returning to the F1 calendar in the upcoming years. Negotiations have been going on for quite some time on an off-and-on basis with Formula 1 and the FIA. If things go according to plan, the sport could have a race at the 4.529 km Kayami circuit quite soon.

The event’s second appearance is set to take place next week and ahead of it, Hamilton is quite upbeat.

I think what happened with the fans and I can’t remember exactly, but it wasn’t the smoothest of weekends, but the race was incredible. And so going back now, I think they would have made so many changes and it would be even better. But yeah, definitely dancing under the nightlights was just incredible.

The 2023 Las Vegas GP turned out to be an extremely chaotic race. Max Verstappen won the event whereas Hamilton, on his end, was able to manage a seventh-place finish. Keeping in view Mercedes’ woes with the W15 this year, the Brit could very well again finish out of the top five in the 50-lap race.
