£190K-a- week wages hutting down Tottenham as club tip to sign Man Utd star

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, but there are worries about his salary.

Harry Maguire should be available from Manchester United, but his salaries may prevent him from joining Tottenham Hotspur.

According to The London Evening Standard, Tottenham are considering making an offer for Maguire.

The 30-year-old defender is poised to quit United this summer, with both the club and the player agreeing that a move is in everyone’s best interests.

Premier League clubs are sure to be interested, and Tottenham are displaying a strong interest in the transaction.

Harry Kane is said to be a major fan of Maguire and has even recommended him to Tottenham in the past, while Tottenham want to bring in more homegrown players.

Add in the fact that Tottenham is making signing a center defender a top priority this summer, and Maguire appears to suit the bill.

However, it has been revealed that Maguire’s salary are causing some disquiet within Tottenham.

Maguire earns roughly £190,000 per week at Manchester United, and Tottenham are unlikely to match that offer.

Ange Postecoglou, the club’s new manager, prefers to work with younger players, therefore a move to sign Maguire is now on hold.

Tottenham will undoubtedly want defensive reinforcements this summer.

Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga may be sold, while Clement Lenglet will return to Barcelona.

Postecoglou needs choices, and Tottenham should consider signing a natural left-footer.

Maguire has played on the left flank for both club and country, but he is still a right-footer at heart.

Tottenham have recently been linked with top-level left-footers such as Josko Gvardiol and Alessandro Bastoni.

Lenglet felt like a stopgap until a significant signing in that area was made, and Tottenham should continue down that path.

Tottenham might sign Aymeric Laporte or Pau Torres, or they could sign a homegrown player like Max Kilman or a young star like Lyon’s Castello Lukeba.

Left-footed centre backs are in high demand in the modern game, and it may be time for Tottenham to look for one rather than commit to a large salary for Maguire.
