£42m Tottenham strong defender finally decide to leave immediately

Davinson Sanchez, a Tottenham Hotspur defender, has decided to leave the club this summer.

The Colombian joined Tottenham in 2017 for a club record cost of £42 million (Guardian). Many thought Mauricio Pochettino had signed one of the best young defenders in the world at the time, but how wrong they were.

Sanchez has been abysmal for Tottenham in recent years, and Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra has reported on Twitter that he intends to leave the club in the coming weeks.

Davinson Sanchez wants to leave Tottenham this summer

Last season, Tottenham were abysmal at the back.

Spurs conceded 63 goals despite having one of the best defensive managers in the world at the helm for the most of the season – just six teams, three of which were relegated, had worse records.

Davinson Sanchez only played a little over 850 minutes of Premier League football, but he earned a lot of flak for his performances – he was even booed by his own fans at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Following that, Sierra revealed that the Colombian has opted to quit Spurs this summer, and the North Londoners are also willing to let him go.

Sanchez appears to have piqued the curiosity of Premier League clubs, but he appears to prefer to test himself in a new country next season.

“Dávinson Sánchez (27) has decided not to continue at Tottenham,” Sierra added. The club also believes that he should be sold because he just has one year left on his contract.

“Although there are Premier League clubs interested, the Colombian prefers to play in a new league.”

Davinson Sanchez’s departure from Tottenham is in everyone’s best interests.

It’s evident that Spurs fans don’t like him, and his confidence in a Tottenham shirt appears to be broken to the point where he won’t be able to recover.

A transfer away from the spotlight to a foreign nation would be ideal for Sanchez this summer, and it will be intriguing to see where he ends up.

Tottenham, on the other hand, will not receive anything near to the £42 million they paid for him in 2017.
