Ange Postecoglou beat Eddie Howe after a hot transfer battle to sign £50m outstanding defender

Tottenham Hotspur have entered the competition to capture Joachim Andersen, as they face another summer transfer struggle with Newcastle United.

According to a report in The Sun, Crystal Palace could seek up to £50 million for the Denmark international.

After an outstanding tenure at Selhurst Park, Joachim Andersen is gaining a lot of attention. According to the Sun, Daniel Levy has been a fan since the season he spent on loan with Fulham.

Ange Postecoglou appears to be a fan as well.According to the Sun, Tottenham have joined the race for Andersen’s signing, with Newcastle also interested in the 27-year-old.

Indeed, INews reported this weekend that Newcastle sees Andersen as a priority in this window.

Tottenham, who already won the race for James Maddison, are now hoping to bring Andersen in to shore up a defense that is in desperate need of reinforcements.

Andersen appears to be a good fit for Postecoglou’s style of play at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He is an excellent ball passer. And being composed in possession is critical under the Australian.

However, the asking amount will undoubtedly be a significant barrier for any club to overcome. Palace are demanding a huge fee for the centre-back. And it’s difficult to conceive anyone approaching that figure.

If Palace are willing to make a deal, he might be a fantastic addition for Tottenham as a ‘exceptional’ player.

However, the Eagles are unlikely to give either of their Premier League opponents any favors in this transfer window.
