Tottenham have confirmed Troy Parrott will play his football next season in the Dutch league.
Tottenham have confirmed 21-year-old Irish star Troy Parrott will continue his football development at Dutch side Excelsior Rotterdam after agreeing a season-long loan.
The Spurs striker played at Preston North End last season last season where he bagged four goals in 34 games before returning to north London.
There had been hints that he might have stayed at the club especially now that Harry Kane was out and the club needing a proper number nine to step up but both the player and Ange Posetcstecoglou have agreed another year away might do him good.
Tottenham are in the market for a striker and have flirted with the idea of signing Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku even though it is thought the 30-year-old forward is determined to get a move back to Italy.
The Lilywhites have embraced life after Harry Kane with a win and a draw in their first team games of the new Premier League season.
The Australian manager highlighted the need to move on and remain focused after losing Kane to Bayern Munich: “Harry Kane was a massive figure for this club for a long time and will continue to be whether he is in the building or not. We wanted to go out and give our supporters some hope and belief in the team.”
Spurs will now hope that they put a winning run going- when they travel to Bournemouth for what will be their second away game of the campaign.
They will however likely be without brilliant summer signing James Maddison who looked to have picked up a foot injury.
