Ben Brannan heads to Tottenham after move permission granted from club president

According to Football Insider, Tottenham have taken Kilmarnock sensation Ben Brannan on trial ahead of a potential move.

The 16-year-old defender has progressed through the ranks at Rugby Park and is regarded as a promising youngster.

Tottenham have been made aware of the right-potential back’s after he performed admirably for club and country at various youth levels.

The Premier League giants are looking to bolster their academy ranks and will now keep a close eye on the Scotland Under-16 international after Kilmarnock granted them permission to take him on trial.

Spurs will then decide whether to pursue Brannan formally.

The right-back has yet to sign professional terms with Kilmarnock, and if he joins the Lilywhites on a permanent basis, the club will be entitled to limited compensation.

Brannan was promoted to Killie’s Under-18s squad this season after spending the previous season with the Under-17s.

The defender has also played for Scotland’s youth team on a regular basis.

Earlier this year, he was a member of the Under-16s squad for the UEFA Development Tournament.

Although he was a substitute in their first game against Denmark, he was named to the starting lineup for their next two games.

Kilmarnock currently sit in tenth place in the Scottish Premiership with 28 points from 30 games, six points ahead of last-placed Dundee United.

They travel to Aberdeen on April 8 before hosting league leaders Celtic at Rugby Park on April 16.
