Daniel Levy drop out two names of managers as final candidate selected to take over

Tottenham Hotspur have recently been linked with offers for Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter, and Dean Jones has shared his knowledge of the matter.

Arne Slot was let go by Tottenham Hotspur yesterday. The Dutchman appeared to be on his way to becoming the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur, but he ultimately elected to stay at Feyenoord.

Daniel Levy is now looking for a new manager, and both Potter and Rodgers are reportedly on his shortlist. Jones, on the other hand, does not believe this, as seen by his comments on GiveMeSport.

The appointment of Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter as Tottenham manager is a ‘non-starter.’

One of the reasons why Arne Slot’s move to Tottenham collapsed is because of the compensation Feyenoord demanded from Daniel Levy.

Other clubs who don’t want Spurs to poach their manager could try and employ a similar stance if Tottenham come calling in the coming weeks.

One solution is to go after a manager who is no longer employed.Graham Potter and Brendan Rodgers both tick that box, but Jones believes Spurs aren’t in that position right now.

“I know Spurs fans are wondering about the chances of Brendan Rodgers or Graham Potter coming in,” he continued, “but up to this point, I have been told that is a non-starter.”

“Once again, that appears to be very unlikely.” It’s possible that the Spurs must now pursue that path, but everything I’ve heard is that both would require a lot of negotiating and persuasion.”

By no means are Rodgers and Potter bad choices for Tottenham.

Yes, both were fired following dreadful seasons at Leicester City and Chelsea, respectively, but they are both quality managers who have done well in the Premier League.

Luis Enrique and others should remain higher on Daniel Levy’s wish list, but if he is unable to persuade the major names to take the Tottenham position, Rodgers and Potter should be considered.

If it were us, we’d pick Rodgers over the former Chelsea and Brighton manager.
