Deal Confirmed: Fabrizio Romano drops new update on the next Tottenham new coach in few hours

Former Spain manager Luis Enrique wants a job ‘as soon as possible,’ according to Fabrizio Romano, after being linked with Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham and Antonio Conte parted ways on Sunday evening after a disappointing season.

Daniel Levy will be looking for his twelfth permanent manager during his tenure as Tottenham chairman, and the decision may fall solely on his shoulders after FIFA extended Fabio Paratici’s ban worldwide yesterday.

Luis Enrique appears to be on Tottenham’s shortlist, with TalkSPORT journalist Alex Crook claiming the move is “one to keep an eye on.”

Now, Romano has provided an update on the Spaniard’s job search after he stepped down as Spain’s president in December.

The transfer insider told Caught Offside that while Enrique is eager to return to management, he wants to build a long-term project at his next club.

“Luis Enrique is open to joining English clubs; however, it depends on the project; he wants something long-term rather than just short-term,” Romano explained. “He wants to get back to you as soon as possible.”

Enrique discussed his future yesterday and seemed to cast doubt on the possibility of him joining the Spurs.

The 52-year-old admitted that, while he would like to manage in the Premier League, he does not see it happening this summer.

“I’d like to go to England to work,” he said, “but I don’t see myself in the Premier League in July.”

“I’d like to go to a team there that can do important things, which is extremely difficult.” I would not support any Premier League club.

“‘I’ve had national team offers but no club offers.” It would have to be a very important team to take it, and facing Spain would be extremely difficult for me. I’m not sure I’d be prepared.” According to The Daily Mail.

According to Enrique’s comments, he is not interested in a move to Tottenham, especially since he stated that he cannot see himself in the Premier League.

The Spurs job will, of course, become available this summer, and the north Londoners are clearly interested in hiring the Spaniard. However, given recent events, they may have a difficult time convincing him to join.
