Dominic Solanke amazed by Tottenham star in training and says he has ‘something rare’

Dominic Solanke was hit with an instant blow before he could even get warm in his seat at Tottenham.

After Solanke made his debut for Tottenham, he picked up an injury that has kept him out of action since and now fans are hoping he returns after the international break.

Even though the all-action striker has been off the training field, he has still been in the building for a while and it has allowed him to get a gauge of the players around him.

The 19-goal striker has taken a step up from when he was at Bournemouth last season, in terms of pressure, expectations and also the players around him.

The London club have several top stars and international quality players on their books, including individuals who have gone up a level under Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham’s style of play under Postecoglou certainly helps because, if you can’t create or score in this system, then there are issues.

Even though Solanke has just entered the building, one player has already left him impressed, including in Tottenham training.

The former Chelsea academy product shared that Son Heung-min is the best finisher at Spurs right now, with Harry Kane out of the door and at Bayern Munich.

Solanke also explained how it’s ‘so rare’ for a player to be so good with both feet, a talent and skill Son has possessed ever since he joined the club.

Tottenham’s club-record transfer added that the South Korean star trains the way he plays and he is just a ‘great leader’, as he told Sky Sports Premier League.

Son Heung-min in Tottenham training

“I would probably say Sonny,” responded Solanke on who is the best finisher at Tottenham. “It’s something rare to be so good. Right foot and left foot. Not many players can do that.

“To be both footed and be great at finishing on both of them is incredible. Yeah, he does (train how he plays). He’s a great leader. One of the nicest guys I have met, to be honest.

“On the pitch, you see what he does on the weekends and it’s exactly the same in training.”

Tottenham v Arsenal

When the players return from national duty, it’s a small matter of Tottenham facing their north London rivals Arsenal at their home stadium.

This is where Spurs fans are hoping Solanke is fit because it would be a huge boost to the team.

He is searching for his first goal and it would be some game to get it in, with this international break doing him and Postecoglou the world of good.

It needs to be noted that Arsenal will be without Declan Rice against Tottenham after he was sent off during his side’s draw against Brighton last time out.
