Fabrizio Romano: Levy finally decide to choose premier League player to replace Antonio Conte

The 37-year-old has performed admirably for the Championship team, and he has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham view the former Manchester City defender as a potential candidate for Antonio Conte, according to Fabrizio Romano, but have yet to make a choice. They will take their time finalizing an appointment, and Daniel Levy is now working on it.

“I can confirm that Tottenham appreciate Vincent Kompany, I’ve said in the last few weeks that Vincent is one of the managers they like after his impressive work at Burnley,” Romano told CaughtOffside.

“But the feeling inside the club is that nothing has been decided yet on the new head coach. It will take time to decide the new manager with Daniel Levy on it.”

Meanwhile, Burnley have played a progressive brand of attacking football under Kompany and Tottenham could certainly benefit from a manager like that. The Belgian is undoubtedly a talented young manager and he could prove to be an exciting appointment.

Despite his lack of experience, he will have the will and passion to thrive in the top flight.

It will be intriguing to see if Kompany is willing to forsake his Burnley ambition and join the North London team at the end of the season. Burnley will almost certainly hope that the 37-year-old can keep them in the Premier League and help reestablish the Clarets as a top-flight side.

Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, have been associated with managers such as Mauricio Pochettino, Luis Enrique, and Julian Nagelsmann. For the time being, Tottenham have appointed Cristian Stellini as interim manager until the end of the season.
