Fabrizio Romano: Tottenham finally secure first €35m summer signing deal valid June 2027

According to rumors, Tottenham Hotspur have signed Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski to a four-year contract.

The Swedish international joined Spurs on loan in January, but it remained unclear whether the London club would sign him permanently.

Kulusevski got right to work. Indeed, he scored and assisted in only his third game, a 3-2 victory over eventual champions Manchester City.

The 23-year-old recorded five goals and eight assists towards the end of the season.

The Tottenham chairman appears to have been successful.

According to Fabrizio Romano, who disclosed on Friday that Kulusevski’s move to Tottenham is almost complete, although at a lower cost.

“Dejan Kulusevski will be announced as a Tottenham player on a permanent deal in the coming days,” he claimed on Twitter.

“I understand the contract will be valid until June 2027, and it has already been signed.” Juventus agreed to a €30 million deal rather than a €35 million purchase option.”

Ange Postecoglou, the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur, is tasked with rebuilding his squad for the next season.

Spurs had a dismal 2022/23 season, finishing eighth and losing out on European competition for the first time since 2008/09.

As a result, Postecoglou is expected to make multiple transfer market additions. Signing Kulusevski on a permanent basis is a fantastic start, but the work will continue.

For example, Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, as well as Leicester City’s James Maddison, have recently been widely connected with Spurs.

But Postecoglou appears to be concentrating on fortifying his defense. That’s hardly surprising given Tottenham’s 63 goals conceded in 2022/23, the Premier League’s sixth-worst record.

Davinson Sanchez, who has fallen down the Spurs’ pecking order, is also poised to go. As a result, the manager will have to find a replacement for him.
