Harry Kane engage fresh battle with Daniel Levy as Manchester United battle arise

Harry Kane is still hopeful of joining Manchester United.

The Tottenham striker was a top target for the Red Devils at the start of the summer, as Erik ten Hag continues to push for a new center-forward, with United still looking for a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo and loanee Wout Weghorst’s time at Old Trafford coming to an end.

With only one year left on his Tottenham contract, it was expected that a transfer for the England captain could be made this summer, with Spurs unable to give Kane European football next season.

However, after being put off by Daniel Levy’s demands, United looked to abandon their interest and began hunting for alternatives, such Atalanta sensation Rasmus Hojlund and Eintracht Frankfurt’s French international Randal Kolo Muani.

Kane, on the other hand, is not giving up on a move to Old Trafford. With Real Madrid’s interest waning following the signing of Jude Bellingham and plans to sign Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer next summer, as first reported by Mail Online, the Tottenham striker remains hopeful that United will resurrect their efforts to sign him.

However, they will have a difficult time convincing Daniel Levy to relinquish his cherished asset. Despite Kane’s contract issue, the Tottenham chairman continues to demand at least £100 million for him.

He is also hesitant to trade Kane to a Premier League competitor, especially after turning down Manchester City’s offer to sign him two years ago.Chelsea have emerged as potential suitors for Kane, but despite Mauricio Pochettino’s arrival at Stamford Bridge, Kane would not be willing to transfer across the city.

PSG and Bayern Munich have both been linked with the striker in the past. Despite being a major fan of Tottenham’s star, United are hesitant to get pulled into a protracted transfer stalemate.

Speaking ahead of a match against Spurs in April, the Dutchman stated: “It is quite clear his impact on the game from Spurs.”

“Of course, we have a plan for that, and we did very well at home.” So, certainly, we’ll need a decent plan for tomorrow as well.

“You have to defend as a team and he is a clever player, so don’t allow him to come in the situations where he can have a big impact on the game.”

Kane, 29, is coming off another eye-catching campaign. This season, England captain Wayne Rooney scored 30 Premier League goals, his joint-most prolific season in the top league.

In the fight for the Golden Boot, he finished second only to Manchester City’s Erling Haaland. Kane also scored three goals in the most recent round of internationals, bringing his total for the Three Lions to 56 goals in 83 appearances.
