Heung-Min Son ruled out of Spur plans as Postecoglou plot fast to sign Chelsea star

Tottenham Hotspur transfer news and gossip, including Son Heung-min, Conor Gallagher, and Ange Postecoglou updates.

Son discusses his injury concerns

Son Heung-min revealed that he “struggled with pain all season,” which led to surgery on a sports hernia injury following Tottenham’s final game of the season. After earning the Premier League Golden Boot in the previous season, the South Korean international battled for form in the early weeks of the 2022/23 season, and it wasn’t until their eighth league encounter that he eventually netted for the first time.

“I debated whether I should even make this public, but I was in a lot of pain all season.” “I played through it for eight to nine months, but I couldn’t go on, so I finally made the decision and had surgery,” Son stated in an interview with TV Chosun, as quoted by Korean football writer Steve Han.

“Even simple acts like passing or turning begin with your core muscles, but that’s exactly where my pain was. “Throughout the season, I was only able to do 60% of what I could do at 100%.”

Spurs are interested in Chelsea’s star.

One name that has not been mentioned as Tottenham target until now, is Conor Gallagher. The 23-year-old midfielder, who enjoyed a fine loan spell with Crystal Palace in 2021/22, scoring eight goals, ended last year well under Frank Lampard at Chelsea, starting eight of the last nine Premier League games, scoring twice.

Ange Postecoglou, the new head coach of Tottenham Hotspur, has made it clear that the only person who may criticize him is his wife.

While giving an insight into his home life and how he just lets his sons enjoy their youth football without his interference in an interview filmed this month for Open Goal, the then Celtic boss admitted that his wife Georgia is the one who rules the roost and will even lay into him about his own football decisions.

“I feel sorry for [the boys] right now because I haven’t been to any of their games and with training I just drop them off,” he explained. “I just want them to enjoy the game as much as I did.” They don’t need me at the side since everyone wants to talk to me and ask, ‘Which one’s your boy?'”
