Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have both been linked with a deal for Edmond Tapsoba, with Spurs’ interest described as’very high’ by Fabrizio Romano.
Both the Arsenal and their fierce North London rivals are looking for a new defender this summer. Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou may require two, and the club has been connected with a number of players.
Tapsoba of Bayer Leverkusen is one of them, and Romano has advised Spurs fans to ‘keep an eye’ on him ahead of a possible move this summer on his YouTube channel.
For various reasons, this is a crucial window for both Arsenal and Tottenham.
The Gunners are expecting to win the Premier League again after coming so close last season, while Spurs are starting a new era under Postecoglou.
Both clubs are looking for a new center-back; Arsenal simply needs a backup, while the other North London club might benefit from a significant upgrade over Eric Dier and Ben Davies.
Edmond Tapsoba might be that player for Tottenham, according to Romano, who claims the club has a’strong’ interest in him. Arsenal, who also likes him, believes he is overpriced.
“This list includes Edmond Tapsoba, a player always appreciated by Arsenal but not a priority this summer because I’m told he’s too expensive,” Romano stated after saying Arsenal have Jurrien Timber and Mohamed Simakan on their shortlist.
“Keep an eye on Tottenham for Tapsoba, as he’s one of the players they’ve been tracking for a long time.” Tapsoba was followed by scouts from both Arsenal and Tottenham.
“From what I’ve heard, Tottenham are very keen on him.”
Tottenham are interested in signing Edmond Tapsoba, who is a terrific defender.
The 24-year-old has been with Bayer Leverkusen for two and a half years and has been outstanding for them. He is one of the Bundesliga’s most remarkable defenders, and anyone who has seen him play knows how good he is.
The official website of the Bundesliga characterizes him as a “powerful and super-quick defender” with “frightening heading abilities,” and they are correct.
He would be a fantastic addition for Tottenham this summer, but whether Daniel Levy is willing to spend big on him in the coming weeks remains to be seen.
