The 22-year-old has had a busy summer thus far.

He was a member of England’s Under-21 European Championship-winning squad.

Oliver Skipp only started once during the tournament, although Lee Carsley used him off the bench in every game.

Pape Matar Sarr is a player that has recently impressed Skipp.

Since joining Metz two years ago, the 20-year-old Senegalese international hasn’t had many chances.

However, he is a gifted player, and Postecoglou has been impressed by him as well.

Sarr, a Tottenham teammate, impressed Skipp.

When asked about his experience playing alongside Sarr against AC Milan last season, Skipp stated, “I really enjoyed that game with Pape, because we played a lot in training together, perhaps we weren’t in team a lot in the first part of the season so we developed a real understanding of how we played together.”

“Perhaps he’d go forward and I’d cover, things like that. He’s so talented, sometimes you forget he’s only 20.

“He has loads of attributes that stand him in good stead and always a pleasure to play with people like that.”

Under Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham has increased the number of midfielders from two to three.

Postecoglou may offer Skipp and Sarr more opportunity next season after being impressed by the youngsters.

Whereas Skipp may fit better as a holding midfielder in Postecoglou’s system, Sarr has the potential to become an amazing box-to-box player.

The 20-year-old is assured in control, can carry the ball well, and has an eye for a pass.

Sarr has already had plenty of first-team experience outside of Spurs, but he will want to continue his development in north London.

If Postecoglou decides not to give Sarr regular minutes, he must go on loan for the upcoming season.
