Micky van de Ven provides injury update after suffering knee problem during Tottenham win on Saturday

Tottenham Hotspur put on a much more convincing performance on Saturday afternoon for their home crowd.

After what turned out to be a frustrating evening on Monday against Leicester City, Ange Postecoglou was able to relax on the weekend.

It was Sean Dyche’s Everton who beared the brunt of Tottenham‘s bounce back from their draw against the Foxes.

Tottenham were able to put four past Everton in north London but it was not complete smooth sailing with a couple of injury concerns along the way.

Micky van de Ven was one of those players with the Dutch defender having provided the home fans with a mahor scare.

Micky van de Ven provides injury update

Spurs came into the game with two major injury issues with Rodrigo Bentancur and Dominic Solanke both sidelined due to issues they sustained against Leicester.

And it looked as if there was another big concern during the game against the Toffees as Van de Ven appeared to hyperextend his leg.

Following the game against Everton, Van de Ven admitted that although he did feel alright, his issue was something that was going to need to be checked.

“It’s OK – we have to check it but it feels OK,” the centre-back told football.lonon.

“I just decided to keep going, hopefully nobody could stop me, and nothing happened. I knew Sonny was on my left so I kept driving at the centre back and at the right moment I played Sonny in.”

Next up for Tottenham is trip to Tyneside for a fixture in which Van de Ven put on perhaps his worst display in a Spurs shirt against Alexander Isak earlier this year.

Pedro Porro was amazed by Micky van de Ven’s pace

Although the early signs did not look good for the Dutch defender, Van de Ven was able to play on for the remainder of the game.

And the 23-year-old was able to even provide Heung-min Son with an incredible assist for the South Korean’s second goal of the game.

The centre-back picked up the ball on the edge of his own box and carried it all the way up the pitch to the edge of Everton’s box before laying up Son.

Even the Spurs right-back Pedro Porro was left amazed by Van de Ven’s pace with the Spaniard jokingly asking the Dutchman to stop running like that.
