premier League giant has approved £80m bid to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham

Erik ten Hag wants to strengthen his attacking options in the summer transfer window by bringing in a new striker.

United’s board has long admired Kane, but Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, who has scored 21 goals in Serie A this season, is also on the club’s radar.

According to the Daily Star, Ten Hag has made Kane his priority target, and United’s CEO Richard Arnold has now given the green light for an £80 million offer to be submitted.

According to the report, United is eager to close the deal as soon as possible and will begin talks with Tottenham before the end of the season.

Ten Hag is also quoted as believing that United’s acquisition of Kane this summer will make them title contenders in the Premier League next season.

Kane scored in England’s 2-0 win over Ukraine on Sunday, and former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard said after the game that the Tottenham striker has reached a crossroads in his career.

‘He’s got a big career decision to make,’ Gerrard said.

‘I’ve been there myself, where you’re thinking ‘is my team good enough to get me the medals? Will I be able to get what I want out of my career?
