Tottenham Hotspur suffered a 1-0 defeat to fierce rivals Arsenal on Sunday and Ange Postecoglou is now under real pressure.
The North Londoners have picked up just one win from their opening four games and reside in 13th place.
So, evidently, the onus is on Postecoglou to win this evening as his side take on Coventry City in the EFL Cup.
With that said, it’s just come to light what the Australian head coach has been privately telling his players after the derby defeat.
Ange Postecoglou urging his Tottenham players to trust him
According to the Daily Mail, Postecoglou is privately telling his players to trust him and to ignore the critics who are questioning his style of play.
The 59-year-old is eager to continue playing his free-flowing attacking style and that message has been made clear to the squad.
There’s been a lot of critics in the media urging Postecoglou to revert to a more measured approach at times, or at least, have a plan b.
But that’s not part of his methodology.
Tottenham’s performance levels have been good
Tottenham have actually been performing at a pretty high level, they’ve just lacked that cutting edge in the final third.
So, perhaps Mikey Moore deserves his chance against Coventry City and if he takes it, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t start against Brentford.
A telling week lies ahead for the football club.
