Sam Allardyce backs Daniel Levy to sign relegated midfielder as board to meet agent today

Sam Allardyce believes Tottenham Hotspur should buy Leicester City midfielder James Maddison.

The legendary football manager Sam Allardyce has backed Tottenham Hotspur’s potential approach for Leicester City’s dynamic midfielder James Maddison.

Spurs have been linked with Maddison since last summer, with the North London club initially showing interest. However, Leicester City’s high asking price proved to be a stumbling issue at the time.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy now has the opportunity to negotiate a better contract for the excellent midfielder, with Leicester City facing relegation. Allardyce believes that Levy would be excited by the opportunity to get Maddison at a low cost.

Allardyce stated his belief that Maddison’s next move will be to Tottenham in an interview with the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast. He described it as “a lovely Daniel Levy deal.”

Allardyce stressed the beneficial impact Maddison might have on the club, claiming that the midfielder’s presence would surely improve Tottenham’s performance as long as he stayed fit.

While Maddison’s future club has still to be determined, the possibility of him joining Tottenham has grown significantly. Levy and the club as a whole are definitely eager to add this very gifted player to their roster.

Tottenham will surely be interested in acquiring James Maddison at a potentially lower cost as a result of Leicester City’s relegation. The English international’s brilliance needs no introduction.

Tottenham, though, may face stiff competition from Newcastle United, who have also shown an interest in signing Maddison. Newcastle made two proposals for the midfielder last summer, both of which were rejected by Leicester City.
