Tottenham have the chance not only to take three points against their sworn rivals but also to build up confidence and get their season back on track. The Lilywhites have only four points from a possible nine, and even though they were the better side against Newcastle before the international break, they left St James’ Park empty-handed.
The visitors have a number of injury and suspension issues, with Declan Rice ruled out, while the biggest blow will be captain Martin Ødegaard, who has picked up an ankle injury and is set to be out for a number of weeks
Spurs have their own issues, but they are on track to welcome back record summer signing Dominic Solanke into the starting eleven this weekend. Manager Ange Postecoglou revealed Solanke was very close to returning before the international break but erred on the side of caution to ensure he would be fresh for this game.
