Tottenham midfield sensation Lucas Bergvall has reacted to Ange Postecoglou’s comments about him.
The North London club added quite a few young stars to their squad during the summer transfer window. Lucas Bergvall was one of the youngsters who joined Spurs during the summer after they had agreed on a deal with Djurgårdens IF Fotboll at the start of the year.
The teenager has had an impressive start to life at Tottenham. He managed to impress one and all with his work during the pre-season and has made three substitute appearances in the Premier League so far. While he has been on the pitch for just 31 minutes, the 18-year-old has received high praise from his manager Ange Postecoglou.
During an interview with Göteborgs-Posten, Bergvall reacted to the praises from the Australian manager, he said via SportWitness:
“It’s nice to be praised, of course. To be told that what you’re doing is good, but at the same time it’s also a motivation to get even better. There are always things I can improve on,”
The Swedish international was then asked if he encountered anything unexpected, to which he replied: “No, I wouldn’t say that. It’s more generally how professional everything is there. Everything is a step better, which maybe you could expect but didn’t really realise.”
Bergvall is delighted to receive praise from his manager and he sees it as a motivation to get even better. He feels there are always things he can improve on.
While moving to London has been a big challenge for him, he has had an incredible start to life at his new club. He is now all set to make his competitive debut for Sweden as Jon Dahl Tomasson has included him in their squad to face Azerbaijan and Estonia in the UEFA Nations League.
