Spurs have been active this transfer window strengthening their team in order to strive for a top-four finish next season after recruiting Ange Postecoglou as their new manager.
They have already signed Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison to strengthen the goalkeeping and midfield areas. They appear to have hastened their efforts to shore up their shaky defenses.
Over the last few months, several players have been connected with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Van de Ven emerging as a significant target.
Jacobs told Tottenham Fan Chris Cowlin’s YouTube channel that the North London club had already made negotiations with the player’s representation about a potential summer deal after identifying him as a ‘top’ target.
Tottenham to Van de Ven
According to the writer, Tottenham are in ‘solid negotiations’ to sign Van de Ven this summer and are most ‘advanced’ in securing his signing.
Jacobs stated:
“I believe Mikey van de Ven will be the first concrete one [center-back] we see in terms of negotiations.” That is the one I believe Tottenham should be keeping an eye on.
“On the player side, Tottenham has looked into this deal.” From what I gather, it’s quite concrete. Now that Maddison is in, he should be one of Tottenham’s top targets if they can get him. And you’ll hear a lot about Liverpool, but Spurs are more advanced or serious.
“They have contacted us to discuss the terms of the transaction.” They have undoubtedly held discussions with his representatives, and we will now have to wait and see how things proceed on the ground.
“However, this is a very real possibility, and Spurs sources indicate that he’s quite high on the list of potential targets.”
Wolfsburg is said to be willing to accept a fee of roughly £26 million to let him leave this summer. As a result, the Spurs may be able to sign their key target for a reasonable sum.
Van de Ven is a gifted defender who would significantly boost the North London club’s defense if he were to join them this summer. It will be intriguing to see whether Tottenham can entice him to the freshly renovated White Hart Lane during this transfer window.
