Tottenham agree fee to sign Crystal Palace defender

Tottenham have agreed a compensation fee with Crystal Palace to sign Oscar Sandiford from Crystal Palace, according to Lilywhite Rose.

The Spurs account posted to X on 10 October to reveal the signing of the 2009 born centre back from the Eagles.

A compensation figure has been agreed upon with Palace to allow Tottenham to complete the signing of the highly rated under 15s defender.

The defender has completed yet another transfer in the early stages of his career, swapping South London for North London.

Sandiford only joined Palace two years ago in a move from League One side Wycombe Wanderers and has clearly impressed in his time at Selhurst Park.

This has prompted Spurs to make their interest count and bring the U15s starlet in from their fellow Premier League club.

It is certainly a positive to bring in a young player for a compensation fee and allow them to develop in the academy and potentially loan him out in the future.

This has become a useful avenue for clubs to make the most of their youth talent and hope they can make it into the first team, the likes of Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear are examples of this after starting against Ferencvaros.

If not, their experiences in the academy leagues and out on loan can make these starlets sellable assets which is also a benefit to the club.

By signing Sandiford there is clear hope that the defender can become a star at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
