Tottenham best player set to leave as Daniel Levy and board trying hard to convince star

According to rumours, Tottenham striker Harry Kane is reportedly ‘prioritising’ a move to Bayern Munich after being ‘convinced’ to join by Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

Kane’s contract expires next year and he has showed little desire to sign a new one, so Spurs owner Daniel Levy could cash in this summer.

Levy is considered to have no intention of selling his greatest player, despite the fact that he may depart for free in 2024.

Manchester United are also keen in signing the England captain, but a transfer to the Old Trafford club is unlikely given Levy’s perception of them as a direct rival to Spurs.

This suggests that a relocation to Germany could be ideal for the Spurs chairman. If he sells Kane to the Bundesliga champions, he will receive a large transfer fee and prevent losing him for nothing to another Premier League club next summer.

A free transfer to United would be devastating, and Spurs fans would not let Levy forget it, especially considering the current state of the supporters’ relationship with the chairman.

According to the Daily Mail, Bayern Munich is ‘poised to make a second proposal’ after having an opening offer worth roughly £60 million plus add-ons rejected.

Kane, according to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, is eager to relocate to Germany.

Plettenberg claims Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur are in “direct contact,” with a “new offer planned.”

Rummenigge, a board member, is now “in charge” and “heading discussions” with the obstinate Levy, and has ‘convinced” Kane to join the Bavarians “this summer.”

Furthermore, Plettenberg claims Kane ‘only wants to join Bayern’, which is a significant blow to Spurs and Manchester United, even though the latter’s chances of acquiring the 29-year-old were slim to begin with.

The Sky Sports Germany journalist then stated that Bayern are unaware whether Kane is regarded as ‘unsaleable’ by Spurs.

This implies that the Bundesliga giants have a backup plan: ‘convincing’ Kane to come for free in 2024.

After failing to replace Robert Lewandowski after his departure to Barcelona in 2022, their ‘goal’ remains signing the England striker this summer.

Last season, Kane scored 30 goals in 38 Premier League games but only one in eight in the Champions League.

Despite his outstanding achievements for Tottenham over the years, he has yet to win a trophy in his career, and a move to Bayern would go a long way towards breaking that drought.

One disadvantage of moving abroad is that it will make it more difficult for the player to overtake Alan Shearer as the Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer.

Kane presently has 213 goals in the English Premier League, 47 fewer than the Newcastle United legend.
