Tottenham and Chelsea both want to sign Arsenal-owned goalkeeper Karl Hein, according to Fichajes.
The Spanish news outlet reported online (26 October) that the Gunners would be willing to sell the 22-year-old for a fee in the region of £12-16.6million.
Tottenham and Chelsea interested in Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein
Spurs’ current number one is Guglielmo Vicario, something which doesn’t appear to be changing anytime soon, despite recent transfer speculation surrounding the Italian (via Calciomercato, 14 October). However, when it comes to a back-up goalkeeper at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, that could soon change.
Fraser Forster made a big impression recently. However, with the shot-stopper in his late thirties, Ange Postecoglou could soon be looking to sign a new deputy for Vicario.
Whether or not Hein will be that man is a different story altogether. Arsenal selling a player to Tottenham is quite a rarity, while the North London side will also have to deal with competition from Chelsea.
However, if Mikel Arteta’s side don’t see a big future for Hein, with David Raya the firm number one choice at the Emirates, the Gunners might be wiling to sell Hein to Spurs.
That could be a boost for Postecoglou, especially if he is keen on the Estonian.
However, if the young goalkeeper is given the choice between Chelsea and Tottenham, Postecoglou’s side could lose out.
In other Tottenham news, one player could leave the club in January after a recent transfer update.
