Tottenham Hotspur are allegedly set to trade Davinson Sanchez this summer for a fee of approximately £12.8 million.
According to The Daily Mail, Turkish club Galatasaray has already made a proposal for the defender.
Mauricio Pochettino signed Sanchez to Spurs in 2017 after he impressed in the Eredivisie with Ajax.
The Colombian made a good start to life in North London, being mentored by players such as Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.
However, following an outstanding debut season, Sanchez has battled with form in recent years and has failed to live up to his potential.
Now, it appears like his time at Tottenham is coming to an end, with Galatasaray ready to sign him this summer.
According to the Daily Mail, Galatasaray have made a £6.4 million deal for Sanchez.
The Turkish Super Lig champions are willing to pay up to £7.7 million for the defender this summer, but Spurs want more like £12.8 million.
Sanchez had a terrible season last season, as he struggled to find opportunities under former manager Antonio Conte.
When he had his chance, the 27-year-old struggled and was booed by portions of the Tottenham supporters during a 3-2 loss to Bournemouth.
Given his troubles in a Spurs jersey recently, it appears that Sanchez should move on this summer.
The defender’s contract expires next summer, so this is Tottenham’s last chance to get a good price for him.
Sanchez has proven to be a good defender, most notably when he filled in for Cristian Romero towards the close of the 2021-22 season.
But it hasn’t worked out for him at Spurs, and a move would help the player recover his confidence.
