Tottenham ‘enter race’ for Arsenal target as Fabrizio Romano makes transfer claim

Tottenham are being backed to make a late move for a forward ahead of Friday night’s transfer deadline.

Tottenham are said to be interested in adding another high profile attacker with another deal likely before the end of the summer transfer window. Spurs have already been busy this summer, adding a number of key signings, including Dominic Solanke, Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and now Wilson Odobert, with Timo Werner rejoining on loan.

Ange Postecoglou have drawn one and won one from their first two games, but they looked seriously impressive when cruising past Everton with a 4-0 home win over the weekend. But Postecoglou may not be satisfied just yet with another new signing or two expected before the end of the transfer window, which comes on Friday night.

Transfer ‘insider’ Fabrizio Romano told GiveMeSport: “I would not exclude anything from Tottenham. Apart from Solanke, who was always the top target, all other signings they’ve been very good at keeping in the background. I think, for Tottenham, there’s still the possibility to do one or two more signings.”

He added: “I’m not sure it’s going to be two, but it could be. I think Tottenham are going to be one of the clubs to follow in the final days. The deal they did with Burnley [for Odobert] was completely silent.

“So, I think they’re still working on something, and I’m told they’re still working on something, but there is still nothing concrete or close to being completed. But I can confirm Tottenham are still in the market for opportunities.”

Amid that claim, Tottenham are being linked with a late move for Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman, who has also been linked with Arsenal this month, reportedly entering the race int he final days Al Hilal are already said to have made a bid for Coman that Bayern could accept, but it remains to be seen whether the winger will be willing to make the move.

TeamTalk say Arsenal, Barcelona and Spurs have all been in contact over a possible deal for the winger at the back end of the window. Romano said on his YouTube channel: “It’s a strong interest from Premier League clubs, from Barcelona. Barca are considering Coman and Federico Chiesa. “Kingsley Coman has several possibilities also in England. So he’s going to be one to watch for the final days because there is still an expectation for Coman to leave Bayern. There could be a surprise with Coman.”
