Tottenham hotspot Borna Sosa is poised to depart Stuttgart this summer and has apparently informed his teammates.
According to BILD (via Buli News), the athlete has already said his goodbyes to his teammates in Stuttgart.
Tottenham, Newcastle, and West Ham are all thought to be interested in signing him.
Christian Falk, a reputable BILD reporter, recently verified Tottenham’s interest in his column for Caughtoffside, indicating that Spurs had a concrete interest in the left defender.
He wrote:
“Previously, we had heard that Tottenham were interested in Borna Sosa. Leverkusen wanted to sign him this winter. Sosa also desired to depart in the past.
He’s under new management, and they’re in talks with Tottenham, who are interested. He would not be too pricey for an English club, so I believe a trade may be struck this summer.”
Tottenham’s only issue is that they have yet to qualify for European competition.
After his January transfer to Leverkusen fell through, he was quoted as stating (through BILD (via GFN Germany) ):
“Every player sets goals for himself in his career. If feasible, I’d like to play for a team that is represented in Europe.”
He did, however, declare his desire to play in the Premier League, saying, “Like many players, I aspire to play in the Premier League one day.” It is the world’s most powerful league. Other than the big six best clubs, the other teams are also strong.”
While a move to Tottenham cannot be fully ruled out, he is more likely to join Newcastle if he wants to play in Europe next season.
The Croatian made 113 Bundesliga matches, scoring 5 goals and assisting 35 others.
Spurs already have Destiny Udogie, but with reports suggesting that both Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon may go in the summer, they may be looking for another left back.
