Montpellier in France appears to be hoping that Tottenham sells Harry Kane to Bayern Munich in the coming days.
This is because, according to Midi Libre, Spurs, if they do offload the England international, are expected to come forward for Elye Wahi.
Tottenham’s interest in the forward is not surprising, as numerous reports in France over the last six months have claimed the London club is interested in the 20-year-old.
On Wednesday, Midi Libre talked with the Ligue 1 club’s president, Laurent Nicollin, who told them that Chelsea’s latest approach of €25 million plus bonuses for the teenage forward was insufficient.
The local newspaper goes on to say that “other offers should arrive in the near future,” including “one from Tottenham, expected in the next few hours.”
They do then acknowledge that the player was connected to Tottenham by the English media in mid-February, but what they said earlier was definitely new information.
It remains to be seen whether Spurs will come forward, but if they trade Harry Kane this summer, they will have enough money to satisfy Montpellier.
