Tottenham finally reach £25m agreement ahead of a potential move this summer to sign Wolfsburg star

Tottenham have accepted personal terms with Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven ahead of a possible summer transfer, according to Football Insider.

Spurs have been extensively linked with a summer transfer for the 22-year-old defender, but no agreement has been reached with the Bundesliga club.

Nonetheless, according to Football Insider, they have taken the first step in signing van de Ven by agreeing on personal terms with him.

According to the source, Tottenham are willing to spend £25 million for the Holland Under-21 international, while Wolfsburg is holding out for roughly £30 million, indicating that the two teams’ values aren’t that far apart.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham are hopeful that a deal will be completed soon after van de Ven agreed to a five-year contract extension until 2028. Spurs have held formal talks with Wolfsburg and hope to reach an agreement soon.

Tottenham underperformed last season, but they will hope to improve under former Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou, who was appointed head coach in north London this summer.

While the primary topic of discussion is whether Harry Kane would leave the club, Spurs are quietly improving their roster.

They have confirmed the permanent signing of Dejan Kulusevski as well as the signing of goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli for £15 million. England midfielder James Maddison arrived for £40 million from Leicester, while winger Manor Salomon came on a free transfer.

Postecoglou is now looking for players to bolster a defense that allowed more than 60 goals last season. Van de Ven is a left-sided centre-back who is a step up from Davinson Sanchez, who could be sold this summer. Spurs are reportedly interested in Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba, although he would be pricey.

According to journalist Nizaar Kinsella, Spurs are interested in Chelsea defender Levi Colwill, although they will face stiff competition from Brighton and Liverpool for his signature.
