Tottenham Hotspur are apparently mulling a double raid on Galatasaray in order to reinforce their squad.
According to a recent rumor from Turkish site Aksam, the North London club has expressed considerable interest in Dutch center-back Victor Nelsson. Spurs are thought to be the “biggest suitor” for the 24-year-old defender.
Erden Timur, Galatasaray’s vice president, has spent a substantial amount of time in London finalizing deals with clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.
According to journalist Zeki Uzundurukan of GS Gazete, Timur’met with Tottenham authorities’ to discuss the probable transfers of Victor Nelsson and Sacha Boey.
The Turkish club informed them that the pair would cost them almost €50 million.
According to Sport Witness, Nelsson has a €25 million release clause, implying that Galatasaray value the right-back similarly.
Furthermore, recent rumors indicated Tottenham’s interest in long-term target Nicolo Zaniolo.
However, given Tottenham’s recent signing of James Maddison and Zaniolo’s wish for a return to Italy, that appears doubtful.
Tottenham have previously signed Dejan Kulusevski, Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison, and Manor Solomon in the transfer market.
The club is anticipated to prioritize defense, and has been linked with center-backs such as Micky van de Ven and Edmond Tapsoba.
While both players are valued by Tottenham, it is expected that the club will eventually pursue one of them.
The possible departures of Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez from Tottenham would also free up space for new defensive acquisitions.
Tottenham are set to continue their chase of defensive reinforcements in the coming weeks as new manager Ange Postecoglou attempts to rebuild the team.
