Tottenham Hotspur is one of the Premier League clubs keeping an eye on West Ham United defender Nayef Aguerd.
According to Jeunes Footeux, Manchester United and Liverpool are also big fans of the Moroccan international.
Nayef Aguerd has been a bright spot for the Hammers during a difficult season. Obviously, David Moyes’ men are still fighting to stay in the Premier League.
However, their situation has improved following a 1-0 victory over Southampton. The performance was not very convincing. However, the game was far more comfortable than the score indicates.
Tottenham is keeping an eye on Aguerd.
And it was Aguerd who scored the game-winning goal, heading home from a free kick in the first half.
He has quickly become a fan favorite at the London Stadium. However, it appears that West Ham will have to fight to keep the 27-year-old.
Tottenham, Liverpool, and Manchester United all want Aguerd, according to Jeunes Footeux. Meanwhile, West Ham may seek a fee of around £53 million for the defender.
Spurs only addressed their lack of depth on the left side of their defense temporarily last summer. Clement Lenglet was signed on loan from Barcelona.
He was a reasonable acquisition. There have also been reports that Spurs are interested in signing Lenglet on a permanent basis. If the Frenchman stayed, it would be difficult to capture the imagination of fans.
Aguerd has been called a “revelation.” And it’s probably not too much of a stretch to say they’d be higher up the table if he hadn’t missed so much of the season due to injury.
West Ham will clearly make it difficult for anyone to sign the centre-back this summer. However, given his recent form, there is clearly a lot of interest in him.
