Tottenham Hotspur finally announce the appointment of Scott Munn as the head chief

Managerless Tottenham Hotspur have announced the appointment of Scott Munn as chief football officer.

The former Melbourne City FC chief executive will join the club’s board and oversee “all footballing departments.”

“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Scott Munn as chief football officer,” the Spurs’ official website said. Scott will join the club’s board of directors and be in charge of all football-related departments.

“As mentioned in the chairman’s statement (Financial Results 2021/22 – 10 February 2023), there has been an ongoing review of all of our footballing activities over the past six months.” Changes have been made, and more are being made to ensure future progress and competitiveness.

“Scott, a former City Football Group executive, has extensive experience in sporting organizations, having begun his career with the Sydney Organising Committee for the 2000 Olympic Games before moving on to the National Rugby League and then the Australia Football League.”

“In 2010, Scott was appointed CEO of Melbourne City FC.” He was named Chief Executive Officer of City Football Group China in 2019.”

“Scott has a unique and broad experience of running sporting organizations at the highest level,” said Chairman Daniel Levy, “and will take responsibility for the leadership and management of our football activities to instill best practice both on and off the pitch.”

Munn’s appointment comes at a time when Tottenham is in turmoil, with interim manager Cristian Stellini in charge of the first team’s bid for a top-four Premier League finish following the departure of Antonio Conte.

Off the field, Fabio Paratici, the managing director of football, agreed last week to take an immediate leave of absence after a ban imposed in Italy was extended globally by FIFA.

In January, an Italian court sentenced Paratici to a two-and-a-half-year suspension from the game after his former club Juventus, where he worked for 11 years, was found guilty of false accounting.

The Italian FA’s (FIGC) ban initially barred him from working in Italy, but FIFA’s extension prompted Spurs to seek additional clarification from the world governing body, given that an appeal had already been filed with the FIGC Federal Court of Appeals.
