Tottenham Hotspur are allegedly interested in signing Rico Browne from Birmingham City.
According to Football Insider, they will compete for the brilliant young defender with Premier League rivals Manchester United.
Tottenham had previously attempted to sign the 19-year-old, but he turned down their offer.
It remains to be seen if the North London club can persuade the outstanding young defender to accept their offer this time.
Browne is well regarded in England and has a bright future. He might be a valuable long-term addition to Tottenham’s squad.
While he is unlikely to start for the North London club immediately, he could be a key member of their youth team and develop into a first-team star in the near future.
If they can provide them with the right assurances, and a clear pathway to the first team, there is no reason why they cannot attract the 19-year-old in the summer.
The chance to play for a big Premier League team is sure to be appealing to any young player, and Browne could be tempted as well.
Manchester United, on the other hand, is a larger club with more resources. Furthermore, from his experience at Ajax, manager Erik ten Hag has a proven track record of developing young players into established stars.
It remains to be seen whether the Red Devils can hold off Tottenham and retain the services of the 19-year-old.
