Crystal Palace are ‘not opposed to parting ways with Marc Guehi this summer,’ with Tottenham having already ‘stepped up’ with a potential bid.
According to Foot Mercato, Guehi ‘might well go this summer’ if a substantial proposal for his services is made.
Guehi has been a mainstay at Selhurst Park since joining from Chelsea in a €23.34 million transfer in July 2021. He’s subsequently established himself as an important player for the Eagles and made his England debut in March of last year.
That appears to have been noticed elsewhere in the Premier League, as Tottenham ‘have stepped forward’ to inquire about the 22-year-old.
They aim to improve their defense this summer, as it has been a particular weakness for them this season.
They apparently consider Guehi as a ‘nice opportunity to seize’ if they can, knowing that those in power at Palace are not opposed to letting him go for a reasonable fee.
It is unclear what that sum is, but Tottenham are expected to have finances to spend, with it understood that their future manager would need to be supported to rebuild the squad and get them fighting at the top of the Premier League once again.
It remains to be seen whether they will now make a real play for Guehi, but it appears that a deal can be struck if they so desire.
