Tottenham Hotspur set to strike agreement to sign ex-Manchester City defender

Tottenham are hopeful that they can persuade Tosin Adarabioyo to join them this summer, according to Football Insider. According to the source, while the 25-year-old Fulham defender is not at the top of new manager Ange Postecoglou’s wishlist, he is emerging as a serious alternative for the Lilywhites due to his contract issue.

Ange Postecoglou has made shoring up Tottenham’s leaky backline one of his main summer goals, with a new keeper reportedly already on the way and at least one new centre-back on the way. The signing of Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is anticipated to be completed in the coming days, with a medical already set.

Postecoglou will try to improve the team’s defense. Tottenham’s backline was far too vulnerable last season as the team experienced a difficult season. They also gave up 63 goals in the Premier League alone.

Eric Dier’s form dipped in the second half of the season, while Cristian Romero did not appear to be the same player who starred for Argentina at the World Cup in Qatar. Davinson Sanchez is set to go, while Clement Lenglet has returned to Barcelona following a mediocre loan spell at Tottenham.

Tottenham has been connected with deals for Harry Maguire, Marc Guehi, and Gleison Bremer. However, Edmond Tapsoba is thought to be their primary defensive target.According to recent rumours, Tapsoba is open to moving to Tottenham.

However, Spurs are not the only team in the competition, with Liverpool, Manchester United, and Newcastle United joining the fray. And they may all be considered more appealing overseas locations for Burkina Faso.Tosin Adarabioyo is another centre-back on Tottenham’s radar, and he might become a good option for the club if the transfer market unfolds.

The 25-year-old began his career at Manchester City before moving on to developmental loan spells at Blackburn Rovers and West Bromwich Albion before landing at Fulham, where he has proven to be an athletic, ball-playing, dependable defender.

Last season, he appeared in 25 games across all competitions for Marco Silva’s team, scoring one goal. He is in the final year of his contract at the West London club, which makes him approachable. During Tottenham’s quest for a new goalkeeper, a similar scenario occurred.
