Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are both interested in signing James Ward-Prowse, according to 90min. With Southampton fighting for Premier League safety, the 28-year-old midfielder’s departure in the summer appears imminent.

Ward-Prowse has been a part of the Saints organization since he was a child. He has risen through the ranks of the club and become one of its most prominent players throughout the years. The 28-year-old has appeared in over 400 Southampton matches and scored over 100 goals.

While he has several years left on his contract, the England international could be on his way out in the summer as the Saints battle for survival in the English Premier League. Southampton, according to rumors, would accept a price of approximately £50 million for their top player.

Southampton are now bottom of the league table, with only 23 points from 31 games. Surviving relegation looks unlikely in this situation. If they do end up in the EFL Championship next season, many of their stars may leave in the summer.

Ward-Prowse is among the players on the list. The club’s contract with the 28-year-old runs through the summer of 2026, but the club is not anticipated to stand in his way.

The England international is one of the league’s best midfielders, and a number of clubs are interested in his services.

Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, and Manchester United are all interested in signing the 28-year-old.

Tottenham needs to add some creativity and goals to their midfield, and Ward-Prowse is a good choice.

The Magpies manager Eddie Howe and sporting director Dan Ashworth are both big fans of the Saints midfielder. And, they would love to have him in their ranks. Ward-Prowse’s arrival will add a lot of quality to their setpieces and it will surely bolster their midfield.

They will, however, have competition from United. The Red Devils seek to bolster their midfield before the start of the upcoming season. Erik ten Hag, who has done wonders for the club, wants to bolster his midfield. The Dutch manager believes that acquiring another world-class player in the center of the park will help his squad advance.

With Scott McTominay and on-loan standout Marcel Sabitzer’s futures uncertain, the club is anxious for a new midfielder. And getting Ward-Prowse would undoubtedly benefit them greatly. However, due to Newcastle and Tottenham’s interest in his talents, it won’t be an easy feat.
