Tottenham Hotspur tip to sign £68.4m top best European striker as Harry Kane decision finally made

According to a rumor, Tottenham Hotspur will pursue a trade for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic if they agree to sell Harry Kane this summer.

Kane is in the final year of his contract in North London and has sparked interest from a number of prominent European clubs, including German powerhouse Bayern Munich.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is said to have met with Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen to explore a prospective deal for the 29-year-old striker, with the former still desperate to keep the England captain.

The perennial Bundesliga champions are said to have had two proposals for Kane rejected by Tottenham, the most recent of which was around €80 million (£68.4 million).

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with Kane, with the latter reportedly willing to go to any length to get Tottenham’s No.10 this summer with uncertainty surrounding the future of Kylian Mbappe.

Tottenham would increase their interest in Serbia international Vlahovic if Kane ends his 19-year tenure in North London, according to French news outlet Foot Mercato.

According to the source, Spurs are willing to leapfrog both PSG and Chelsea in the race for the Premier League title.

Chelsea purportedly had a £52 million deal for Vlahovic rejected by Juventus, but Fabrizio Romano now says that the Blues’ interest in the striker has stopped.

Meanwhile, PSG are claimed to have’made serious contacts’ in order to recruit Vlahovic, who has been designated as their’main target’ if Mbappe leaves the Parc des Princes this summer.

Vlahovic’s contract in Turin expires in three years, and Juve director Francesco Calvo reiterated in May that the Serie A giants have no plans to sell their No.9 ahead of the new season.

Vlahovic, on the other hand, is said to be weighing his options after Juve finished seventh in Serie A last season and failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

While Spurs will not be competing in Europe in 2023-24, the possibility of playing in the Premier League for Ange Postecoglou’s side may be appealing to Vlahovic, who has scored 23 goals in 63 games for Juve since joining the club 18 months ago.

Spurs have signed three players this summer: James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario, and Manor Solomon, while Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro have had their loan stints extended.
