Tottenham Hotspur have been urged to sign Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson.
Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has urged Tottenham Hotspur to sign Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson, who is on loan from Manchester United until the end of the season.
Given that David de Gea is the club’s undisputed No. 1, the Englishman joined the Tricky Trees last summer in order to gain playing time. Spurs have recently been linked with Henderson.
Agbonlahor has now urged the Lilywhites to formalize their interest. He exclusively told Football Insider:
“I believe he is more than capable of playing for the Spurs.” I can tell you that I said they should have gone after Pickford, but he’s signed a new contract with Everton. They must select a young player who can commit to that goal for the next ten years.

“It will obviously depend on the De Gea situation as to whether Henderson ends up leaving, but I think it’s a good fit. “It’ll be interesting to see where Spurs go, but they’ve got to get rid of Lloris. He’s just made too many mistakes, he takes too long on the ball – he’s got to go, for sure.”
Jordan Pickford signed a contract extension until the summer of 2027 (Transfermarkt), making it difficult to sign him. However, the 29-year-old may have ambitions to play for a club that is not fighting relegation.
Henderson, 26, appears more attainable, particularly given Manchester United’s goalkeeping situation. Furthermore, he is at an age where he can consider making the jump to a big six team where he can actually play.
Playing for Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest is fine, but he doesn’t see it as a long-term goal for his career. Agbonlahor is also correct in stating that Hugo Lloris is struggling.
