Tottenham Hotspur have been keeping an eye on Max Aarons all season, with the Norwich City star potentially available for less than £10 million in the summer.
According to The Sun, Wolfsburg are interested in the 23-year-old as he approaches the end of his contract at Carrow Road.
It is surprising that Aarons has lasted at Norwich for so long. He has long been regarded as an exceedingly promising talent. In reality, he has already appeared in almost 200 games for the Canaries.
Tottenham still monitoring Aarons
However, this summer could be the turning point in his life.
Tottenham are long-time admirers of Max Aarons, according to The Sun. They’ve also deployed one of their finest scouts to keep an eye on the right-back.
There is interest from other sources. He will, however, not be cheap. Because of his contract predicament, Norwich currently values Aarons at £10 million. And the price will continue to fall.
Norwich City are currently slightly outside the Championship play-off places. So staying in the second tier for another year will not help their cause.
Aarons is an unexpected target for Tottenham. He is a ‘unbelievable’ talent with tremendous potential. However, the Spurs are well-stocked at right-back.
Pedro Porro’s January transfer window arrival has brought depth to that position. Meanwhile, Emerson Royal had his greatest Spurs season in the weeks following Porro’s arrival.
Djed Spence, of course, is on loan. And he’ll be hoping for a new chance under a new boss.
Aarons is capable of playing on the opposing flank. And he’s not going to be cheap. Spurs, on the other hand, are not looking for another right-back.
