Tottenham could potentially sign a 6ft 4in ace compared to Virgil van Dijk for as little as £16 million

Tottenham Hotspur might use some defensive reinforcements this summer.

Spurs have struggled this season, with defense being an especially poor point for the Lilywhites.

Tottenham could surely improve on the performances of Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier, and Clement Lenglet.

Meanwhile, Cristian Romero has struggled with fitness this season, and he could absolutely improve his discipline.

Spurs could now sign an experienced defender from the Bundesliga for less than £16 million, according to BILD.

According to Sport Witness, Jonathan Tah is on Tottenham’s radar because he ‘fits their profile’.

The 27-year-old is reportedly ‘seeking for a change’ after eight years at Bayer Leverkusen.

Tah has made 305 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit over that time.

The 16-cap Germany international is also said to be interested in a move to the Premier League.

Even better for Tottenham, Tah’s release clause is only €18 million (£15.5 million) – but there is a catch.

Otherwise, his price becomes freely negotiable if the clause is not activated before the beginning of July.

Tah’s contract expires until 2025, therefore Leverkusen would not be in a rush to move him this summer.

Tah is exactly the type of player Tottenham may use this summer.

He is in his peak at the age of 27, and he has extensive experience at the highest level.

Tah is also an extremely gifted player, and his height and physicality would serve him well in the Premier League.

Indeed, comparisons have been made to Virgil van Dijk and Dayot Upamecano, two of the best defenders in the world.

It’s a no-brainer to get a guy like Tah for less than £20 million. Spurs, on the other hand, must act quickly.

There won’t be any activity on the transfer market until Tottenham has a new director of football and manager in place.
