Tottenham released fresh list of seven key transfer target to complete classic 23-man squad next season

Tottenham could complete a squad revamp under Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham Hotspur’s squad could look significantly different next season, with Ange Postecoglou apparently seeking to slash 10 first-team players. Following his arrival from Celtic, the Australian tactician will whittle down his group in the following weeks.Express Sport examines the potential Spurs squad for the 2023-24 season…

Goalkeepers: Vicario, Forster, Austin

Spurs believed to have abandoned their pursuit of Brentford’s David Raya, possibly due to being quoted £40 million for the Spaniard.

Instead, the north Londoners have reportedly targeted Empoli shot-stopper Guglielmo Vicario. A £17m transfer is widely understood to be close. Vicario is set to replace club captain Hugo Lloris, who will leave Tottenham after 13 years this summer.

Defenders: Tapsoba, Van de Ven, Maguire, Dier, Romero, Udogie, Sessegnon, Porro, Royal, Spence

Postecoglou may begin the season with a bloated defensive quota comprised primarily of young players. Djed Spence and Destiny Udogie, for example, will be hoping for breakout seasons with the club.

Spurs have been connected with Edmond Tapsoba and Micky van de Ven, two promising defenders. Tapsoba, the star of Bayer Leverkusen, might be one of their greatest signings of the summer.

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire is also said to be of interest to Spurs, despite the fact that the England international’s future remains uncertain. With Spurs failing to find eight homegrown players to meet Premier League requirements, Maguire may be a valuable addition.

Midfielders: Skipp, Hojbjerg, Sarr, Bissouma, Maddison

Spurs have not been linked with many midfielders, which seems odd given the position’s dearth of quality depth. Antonio Conte used only two central midfielders, whilst Postecoglou preferred a three-man midfield at Celtic.

Oliver Skipp was one of the few players who made an impression near the conclusion of last season, and Pape Matar Sarr should see more playing time next season. Yves Bissouma will look to establish himself, while Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s intensity should complement the new coach’s style.

Daniel Levy is ready to compete with Newcastle for the acquisition of Leicester star James Maddison, with Spurs severely lacking in midfield creativity. Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports that Harry Winks, Gio Lo Celso, and Tanguy Ndombele are only three of ten players who could be let go.

Forwards: Osimhen, Son, Kulusevski, Richarlison, Sancho

It’s unknown whether Harry Kane will stay at Tottenham this summer. This squad considers what would happen if England’s captain leaves, with Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich all apparently keen.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, who scored 26 goals in Serie A last season, would be an ideal alternative for Kane. A deal would be difficult to complete, but if Kane leaves, Tottenham will have a lot of money to play with. Jadon Sancho could potentially be lured away from Manchester United, particularly if the Red Devils offer the winger in return for Kane.
